As a mama, I knew there’d be days like this.
Days where I’m so tired.
Days where everything tests my very last nerve.
Days where I literally am so all over the place its a miracle I’m standing up right at the end of the day.
Days where I feel like nothing is going right.
Days where I feel like I let everyone down.
Days where I question just why this is so hard and I can’t figure it out.
Days where I question if I’m giving enough.
Days where I question if I’m present enough.
Days where I question if I’m fun enough and laugh enough.
Days where I question if I’m even enough.
But then I remember…..there are also days like this.
Days where your child tells you “I LOVE YOU SO MUCH MAMA.”
Days where your child sleeps in and you get to sleep in too.
Days where you spend the day together at the bookstore and then stop by to get a scoop of ice cream.
Days where they tuck their hand in yours even though they are getting to “old” to hold mama’s hand.
Days where they want one more story and cuddle with you before bed.
Days where your child starts a new hobby and loves it.
Days where you see your child being kind to another child and you realize that you are raising a good little human.
Days where you spend the afternoon at the pool and they nap with you on the chaise afterwards smelling of coconuts and summertime.
Days where you get to be their hero.
Days where your child brings home their art project and tells you it’s made specially just for you.
Days where your child sings in the car with you to your favorite song.
Days where you have big, grand, elaborate discussions about space, the stars, other worlds, and the other magic in the world.
Days where you all have dinner together and you look around the table and you realize that this is everything you need in the world.
Oh yes Mama, there will be days just like this.
