How Do You Stay So Positive?

We get asked this a lot.

And the short answer is…..I don’t.

There are some days I want to kick rocks.  That I rage at the world and I cry.  That I am so incredibly heartbroken that it hurts to breathe.

But that’s not most days.  Staying positive is like motivation.  You are not always going to stay motivated or stay positive.

That’s where dedication comes in.

Faith.

Trust.

Commitment.

Gratitude.

Remembering all of the challenges that we have overcome.

Keeping in mind all of the barriers we have broken down.

Remembering that I have a little warrior princess looking at me for her cues.

Keeping in mind the promises that I made to her when she was born and the woman I need to be for her.

Grounding myself in faith and the firm belief that we have a story to tell.

Trusting that we are impacting lives by living ours authentically and unapologetically.

Starting each day with a grateful heart.

Reminding myself that a grateful heart is a magnet for miracles.

Laughing.  A lot.

Looking for the silver lining in everything.

Finding joy in the small things.

Making the choice to shine even though we’ve been through some storms.

Celebrating our victories–no matter how small.

Encouraging others….and by helping others see their own light, we become even more inspired.

Being an enthusiast of life.

Teaching inclusion for all and helping others become comfortable with that.

Every single time I feel that positivity slipping, I answer it with one of the things I just listed.

Small little reminders that there are so many beautiful reasons to be happy………

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.

Jaime
