I’m feeling extremely overwhelmed right now.
Callie’s upcoming knee surgery.
Trying to plan, anticipate, and schedule all the things for it especially during Covid.

I just started on a new insulin pump.
I’m working on a ton of high level projects at work.
The stress of sending my husband to work is at an all time high.
I have to bring a dish for Thanksgiving (I’m usually delegated to rolls ).
I’m not getting my workouts in as regularly as what I want to.
I feel like our house is a disaster between doing the reno and two of us “working” from home.
Friends have pulled away because of the career my husband chose and my support of our law enforcement family.
And oh yeah….we’re in the middle of a pandemic.
So I have to take a step back and ask myself….
“Is it hard or does it FEEL hard?”
Because those are two different things.
Callie’s surgery and watching James go on duty each day…..hard. Those are two things that I can legitimately say are hard things to deal with and work through.
The rest of the things….feel hard but I realize that I can try to take steps to mitigate that feeling. I can do things to help relieve that feeling, head it off at the pass, and work through it.
- Journaling.
- Asking for help.
- Realignment of my definition of “success and achievement” right now.
- Prioritizing my health and letting the other things like the housework go–gracefully.
- Gratitude practice everyday.
- Making a list and tackling things one at a time.
- Perspective Perspective Perspective.
And the reminder…..this to shall pass.
We have a pretty good track record of triumphing over what has tried to slay us in the past
