I recently heard on a podcast that your intuition is actually an older wiser version of yourself.
My mind was blown.
So since then, I’ve become obsessed with reading all things related to intuition, inner knowing, and that grounded, authentic, all knowing version of myself.
Part of the challenge I think people have with “listening” to their intuition is that the world today is very……loud. Most people are what we call 5th Sensory People.
They lead their lives where they look at the world through their ego brain. Some aspects of a fifth sensory person include:
- Living in a sense of fear and are worried about pleasing the people around them.
- Second guess themselves
- Aren’t their authentic selves.
- Often feel isolated and disconnected
I don’t know about you, but I aim to do the exact opposite of a fifth sensory person. I want to be more connected to others and the world around me. I want to understand myself and live with the knowledge that I’m more than my ego. I want to open up an entire new world of awareness and creativity.
And that can be hard to do in today’s loud, crazy, constantly on the go world that we live in. So how do you get quiet to listen to your intuition?
Here’s three steps to quiet the noise so you can activate your intuition:
Step away from the situation.
I’ve found that during these times the best thing you can do is allow yourself some breathing space.
Stand up and go for a long walk, head out into the wilderness, browse some book shops, meditate, sit with a coffee at an outside table and watch the world go by. Whatever you love doing, whatever calms you, now is the time to do it.
Find some quiet space to let your mind wander, and your intuitive voice will have a far greater chance of being heard.

Be honest with yourself.
It can sometimes be very easy to ignore your feelings and push them away. I mean, that was my entire coping strategy for the first few years of Callie’s life.
We might push those gut feelings aside and take what may seem like the easier option because we’re afraid of failure, changing direction, the unknown, being unliked, and saying no.
However, ultimately this is about your happiness. Your wellbeing. Your life. And if something doesn’t feel right, then maybe it’s time for a change.
Ask yourself authentic questions. Be honest with yourself and acknowledge those unsettled feelings; they are there to be mile markers, guide you, and support you.
Listen to them.

Write it Out.
I have found writing in a journal to be an incredible method for tuning into my intuition.
Acting as a safe space to release emotions, work through problems, and process my thoughts, it provides a conduit for greater self-discovery and understanding.
Next time you are having difficulty making a decision, pick up a pen and some paper and let the words flow out of you. Don’t overthink it. Literally just write. Reflect on the situation, explore those feelings, and consider the bigger picture.
This free-flowing use of personal writing can be a great method for removing blocks and letting your intuitive voice lead the way.
Just let the words pour out of you.

I hope some of these tips helped you! Your intuition can be so powerful, but it often needs a quiet, calm, reflective environment to find its way.
Learn where you can find some peace, go there when times are hard, and listen with all your might to what your heart and soul are telling you.
Remember friends, your intuition knows how to guide you……..so give it the space to be heard.
Love and light,
Jaime
