10 Wellness Tips for Busy Girls: Feel Good Without Overwhelm

August 21, 2025 in Health & Wellness - 1 Comment

In today’s hustle culture, “wellness” can feel like another thing on your to-do list. But true wellness doesn’t mean waking up at 5 a.m. for a 90-minute workout or living off green juice (no thanks!). It’s about nurturing your body, mind, and spirit — in ways that actually fit into your real life. Whether you’re juggling work, school, caregiving, or all of the above, here are some practical wellness tips that busy girlies can actually do.

1. Start Your Day with One Intentional Habit

You don’t need a two-hour morning routine. Just pick one small habit that centers you — a 3-minute meditation, writing one journal line, or sipping water before coffee. Consistency matters more than perfection.

2. Hydrate Like It’s Your Job

Dehydration is sneaky. Keep a cute water bottle with you and aim to finish at least two full bottles during the day. Bonus points if you add lemon, mint, or berries to make it feel spa-worthy.

3. Move in Micro Moments

Can’t make it to the gym? Walk while you take phone calls, do 10 squats while the kettle boils, or do 2-3 quick yoga poses before bed. Your body doesn’t care how you move — just that you do.

4. Set Boundaries with Your Screens

Scrolling might feel like a break, but it often adds to your stress. Try setting phone limits or using apps like “Forest” to stay focused. Instead, trade 10 minutes of doomscrolling for a nourishing moment — deep breaths, music, or stepping outside. I tend to disconnect from my phone on my lunch break–instead I pick up whatever book I’m reading!

5. Fuel with Real Food (Even If It’s Imperfect)

You don’t need to be a meal-prep queen. Keep grab-and-go healthy snacks on hand — think hard-boiled eggs, fruit, trail mix, or hummus and crackers. Your energy is directly tied to how you fuel yourself.

6. Protect Your Peace Like It’s Sacred

Say no without guilt. Cancel plans when needed. Take a mental health day. You don’t have to earn rest — you already deserve it.

7. Romanticize Your Life (Yes, Really)

Light a candle while you fold laundry. Play your favorite playlist while you work. Wear perfume just for you. Making the ordinary feel beautiful is a wellness ritual too.

8. Check in with Your Body Daily

Ask yourself: How am I really feeling today? Then listen. Tired? Rest. Stressed? Breathe. Energized? Move. Your body is wise — tune into her.

9. Use a standing desk

Bonus points if you get a walking pad for underneath.

10. Stretch while watching TV

I love a good nighttime stretch before bed.  I’ve made longevity and flexibility a priority this year so I love finding ways to sneak in some stretching.

Final Thoughts:

You don’t need to do all the things. Pick one or two that feel good and build from there. Wellness isn’t a performance — it’s a practice of caring for yourself in small, loving ways. You deserve it.

Sending you love and light,

Jaime

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

    Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.
