Good Night Hospital Room

In the small hospital room

There was a big bed.

And a ventilator

And a portable x-ray machine.

And a tall IV stand and a fold out chair.

A tired Mama and Daddy.

A brave little warrior princess.

And a nurse coming to check vitals.

Hospital5 (2)

Goodnight hospital room.

Good night portable x-ray machine.

Good night IV stand dispensing medicine.

Goodnight fold out chair.

Goodnight little hands clasped in prayer.

Goodnight heart monitor.

Goodnight quiet stealthy janitor.

Goodnight bandaids and dressings.

Goodnight wound vac cutting down on swellings.

Goodnight thermometers and blood pressure cuffs.

Goodnight sweet family dealing with some heavy stuff.

Goodnight nurses and docs.

And goodnight hospital gowns and grippy socks.

Goodnight balloons and flowers left with care.

Goodnight little grey wheelchair.

Hospital4

Goodnight loud nurses station.

Goodnight baby girl on the night after her operation.

Goodnight empty Starbucks cup.

And goodnight resident just checking up.

Goodnight stitches and scars.

Goodnight moon and all the stars.

Goodnight machines beeping in the night.

Goodnight Mama and Daddy holding each others hand tight.

Goodnight movie playing quietly in the darkness.

Goodnight brave little Warrior Princess.

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.
