We Show Up

We show up.

We show up for the hard days.

We show up for the incredible days.

We show up for the lazy Sundays.

We show up for the crazy, hectic, busy days.

We show up for the birthday parties and the key note speeches.

We show up for the long days at the doctor’s office or at the prosthetic clinic.

We show up for the days where my blood sugars are all over the place.

We show up for the days where we have been given incredible, once in a lifetime,  opportunities.

We show up for the days where life has beaten us down.

We show up for the days where the only thing I want to hear is my husband coming through the door at the end of his shift.

We show up for the days where we are able to share our story with others and inspire them in their own journey.

We show up for the days full of belly laughs.

We show up for the days of tears and heart aches.

We show up for days with first steps and first runs.

We show up for days with first falls and first tumbles.

We show up for the days at the zoo and quiet afternoons in the bookstore.

We show up for the days spent sleeping in a chair in the ICU.

We show up when things are falling apart.

Or falling into place.

We show up for the moments of vulnerability.

We show up for the moments of fierce strength.

We show up for the days where people stare at Callie’s leg and then look away quickly.

We show up for the days that kids ask questions in a curious way and tell her that they love her “robot leg.”

We show up each and every day.

When it’s hard.

When it’s beautiful.

When it hurts.

When it feels like we are drowning.

When it’s easy.

When it’s perfectly imperfect.

When it’s everything we’ve hoped for……

We show up.

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.
