Powerhouse

January 1, 2020 in Lifestyle - No Comments

Each year we pick a “Power” word for the year.

A word that sets the tone for what our goals are, what we hope to accomplish, and the intentions we have for our upcoming year.

This year, we waffled between a few.  We thought of “Joy” and “Believe” but neither one of those really resonated with us. We needed something stronger.  Fierce. Fired up.

Enter “Powerhouse.”

We now have our word.

I can’t think of a better word to sum up the goals that we have for 2020.  I can’t think of a word that better describes the people we want to be in this upcoming year.  I can’t think of a better word for how we approach situations, challenges, opportunities, and life in general than “Powerhouse.”

2019 was an amazing year.  Truly, some of the best moments of our lives happened this past year.  But I can honestly say I feel like 2019 was setting us up to springboard into 2020.

And we want to go into this year with our hearts on fire.  Chasing goals.  Inspiring and impacting.  Authentic and approachable.  Energetic and strong. Like the powerhouses that we are…..

We worked on our digital vision boards this weekend and I wanted to share them with you guys!  They encompass what we want to focus on, align with, and prioritize this year.  Here’s mine:

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.
