The Whole Picture

Yes this is a pretty picture.
But what you don’t see behind the picture is…

The mama trying to hold it together.
The stack of laundry that’s roughly a week old on our dresser.
The mama that invariably will forget to add funds to the school lunch account. For the third time in a row.
The mama who’s car is a literal disaster area.
The mama who questions if she spends enough time with her daughter.
The mama who hoped for a big family but was only blessed with one angel.
The mama who cries during Disney movies. Or animal movies. Or movies with kids. Just movies period.

The mama that literally buys the gifts on the way to the birthday party because #workingmamalife
The mama who really wants a date night with her husband but her daughter is healing from surgery and they don’t want to leave her.
The mama that still has Christmas stuff up.
The mama that battles Type One Diabetes every day.
The mama who is anxious about her daughter becoming a “teenager.”
The mama who hopes her words are impactful but fears she’s lost in this big convoluted jumble of social media.

So today friends, please don’t compare yourself to strangers on the internet.

Because sometimes……you don’t see the whole picture.

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.
