I’m Not

It never fails.

A new opportunity arises.  Or a new adventure.  A new season of life.  A new experience.

And we instantly go into a myriad of excuses as to why we can’t do it.  Why we aren’t good enough.  Why we are going to fail.

I’m not smart enough.

I’m not fast enough.

I’m not thin enough for a bikini.

I’m not a good enough writer.

I’m not fast enough.

I’m not good at math.

I’m not organized enough.

I’m not creative.

I’m not really funny.

I’m not really a great cook.

I’m not a good mom.

I’m not a good wife.

I’m not strong enough.

Why?

Why do we instantly focus on what we aren’t…..instead of what we are?

I approached Callie the other day about participating in the local FashionABLE fashion show.  Her immediate response was “Yes.  I FOR SURE definitely want to do that.  I am going to be the best model for them.”

At what point do we lose that?  That self assurance?  That confidence that we are incredible, majestic, beautiful and fierce beings?

So today, let’s choose to step back into that.  I’m choosing to focus on what I am…..instead of what I’m not.

I am a fighter.

I am resilient.

I am someone with a very joyful laugh.

I am tenacious.

I am statuesque.

I am caring.

I am a problem solver.

I am an advocate.

I am a game changer.

I am a thought leader.

I am athletic.

I am someone who dances for the sheer joy of it.

I am someone who loves reading.

I am a present and hands on mama.

I am sarcastic as hell.

I am someone who gets things done.

I am a mama……laying down the foundation for my daughter to grow up believing that she is powerful, brave, beautiful, and can do all things.

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.

Jaime
