Making an Impact

Sometimes I’ll get caught in the “What if” cycle……

What if no one reads our blog?

What if no one sees our posts on Instagram?

What if our message gets lost in the giant vortex that is social media?

What if our message is falling on deaf ears?

What if no one is engaging with us?

What if, what if, what if…..

And sometimes all it takes is a small reminder that it is making a difference.

A message from a friend on social media saying our post impacted them.

A message from a blog follower that our latest blog brought them to tears.

Someone reaching out to say they saw a news story and it reminded them of us.

A fellow amputee who shares that they wish they would have had a book like ours when they were younger.

Those little small things to let us know that….we are making a difference.

So then it makes me think.

What if…..I didn’t show up that day?

What if…..I didn’t share my heart?

What if…..I didn’t put energy into my blog posts?

What if ….I didn’t write my book?

What if….we didn’t build this community?

What if….I didn’t stand up and advocate for Callie?

What if…..I didn’t try to bring a voice to those who are marginalized?

What if……I didn’t share our story on social media?

Instead of thinking about the masses we might be missing out on…..

What if we didn’t show up for the people that needed us to?

So we will continue to show up, share our hearts, and tell our story.

For a crowd of millions…..or a quiet audience of one.

Impact is impact.

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.

Jaime
