Adaptive & Inclusive Gift Guide!

December 13, 2020 in Holidays - No Comments

Sharing some of our favorite inclusive and adaptive gifts for the little warrior princess in your life!

We are big fans of Zappos Adaptive that carries single shoes and allows it’s customer’s to order different shoe sizes for each foot! Callie truly only needs one shoe since she wears her prosthetic blade 99% of the time–Zappos to the rescue!  With brands like Uggs, Vans, and Converse we are set!

We love Appaman for their stylish and adaptive looks!  We have several pieces and love the quality and the functionality of each of the pieces.  Callie is hoping that Santa brings her the fab leopard coat from their winter line!

Inclusive books that feature differently abled characters like When Charley Met Emma and Wonder top our list.  Books are a great way to introduce conversations with your kiddos about people that look different and have different abilities.  Storytelling is a remarkable tool for discussing diversity, inclusion, kindness, and empathy.

Dolls like A Doll Like Me and American Girl are also great gifts.  Callie absolutely loves “her” dolls and it has helped her confidence so much to be able to “see” herself reflected in the toys that she played with growing up.

We hope you like our hand picked curated gift guide!  Go ahead and click on the links to shop!

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.

Jaime
