Gentle Prompts to Come Back Home to Yourself

October 10, 2024 in Lifestyle - 1 Comment

There are those moments in life when you realize that you aren’t living in alignment with your true self. One day, you look up and realize that you have just been mailing it in, surviving, or simply floating along without having any clear path of action.

Realizing this is one thing.

But getting back to who you are is another challenge entirely—and it begins with a lot of grace, intentionality, and a little bit of letting go! Use these reflection questions to help you assess where you’ve strayed from your path and what is hindering you so you can begin your journey home to authenticity and fulfillment.

  1. When do you feel the most connected to yourself?
  2. What does that feel like?
  3. What makes you feel good about being you?
  4. What are the things that you do that make you forget to check your phone?
  5. What are things that drain you?  Is there room for you to set boundaries for those things?
  6. What are the things that are stopping you from feeling connected?  How can you remove those?
  7. How can you cultivate space for deep self-honesty?
  8. How does the most authentic you look/dress/and present themselves?
  9. What makes you feel authentic? Can you create space to do more of those things?
  10. What’s a self promise that you can make today to help you come back home to you?

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

    Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.
