Just Dance….

February 23, 2019 in Modern Motherhood - No Comments

The struggle was real this morning.

Callie did not want to get up. Did not want to go to school. Did not want to eat breakfast. And apparently thought that M&Ms were a healthy option for an after breakfast dessert.
So after we had a *lively* discussion…..I simply pointed to our Alexa. We proceeded to jam out to her song of choice….and danced out the tension.
It resets us. How can you stay grumpy when you’re dancing in the kitchen with your kid? How can you stay mad when she’s doing the lawnmower across the kitchen? How can she stay grumpy when her crazy mama is doing the sprinkler?
You can’t. I’m learning to let go and learning that what works for me might not work for her. My pace might not be her pace. My go to might not be her go to. But everyone can take 5 minutes and have a dance party. Cause dancing fixes everything ❤

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.
