Love Basket

January 21, 2021 in Holidays - No Comments

Valentine’s Day is my FAVORITE holiday next to Christmas!

I wanted to share the “love” basket that I made to give Callie–I’m trying to be intentional with the holidays especially over the last year.  Our normal traditions and interactions have been paused due to Covid so I have to be creative with how we can celebrate things.  We won’t be able to do in class Valentine exchanges so we are hand making cards to send to our friends and love ones.  We can’t go out for brunch so we are going to make heart shaped waffles with loads of strawberries and whipped cream.  I don’t want us to simply “not” celebrate it, I want us to create new traditions or modify the ones we already have!

I’m so happy with the way it turned out and can’t wait to give it to her!

It’s so simple to make–I bought a pink tub from Target and added some decorative pieces to it–a handmade glitter bunting and some banners from Hobby Lobby.

I filled it with all of her favs–bath bombs, a pink sparkly nail polish, some sweet treats (cookies from Target which are her fav!), a drawing book, a unicorn tumbler, headband, a ballerina fox, and a custom crayon set from The Whimsical Shop (on Etsy!)  We’ve made a conscious effort to shop small for each holiday this year and I’m in LOVE with her crayons.  I will link everything down below so you can shop too!

I also am going to include these handmade dolls for her–we worked on them “together” and they will be a cute keepsake for her to have!

I know she’s going to love it!

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.

Jaime
