The Perfect Mom

February 27, 2019 in Modern Motherhood - No Comments

Life is not perfect.
Life is messy, complicated, perfectly imperfect. And that’s what makes it beautiful.
Callie doesn’t need a perfect mom.
She needs to see me struggle….so she can see me overcome.
She needs to see me fail….so she can see me improve.
She needs to see me start over…..so she learns there’s no expiration date on your goals.
She needs to see me told no…..so she can see me try again. And again. And again.
She needs to see me be scared….so she can see me be brave.
She needs to see me chasing my dreams…..so she can reach hers.
She needs to see me embracing my imperfections….so she can do the same for hers.
She needs to see me upset….so she can learn to work through her emotions.
She needs to see me less concerned with appearances…..so she learns it’s how a person acts that’s important.
She needs to see me do what I’m good at….so she learns there are no limitations to what she can do.
She needs to see me fall…..so she can see me rise……

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

For the women blooming in unexpected places…..

Hi Y'all

Hi, I’m Jaime — writer, mother, storyteller, and the heart behind The Wildflower Edit. For nearly a decade, I wrote online as The Princess and the Prosthetic, sharing my daughter’s journey with disability and the lessons our family learned along the way. It was a beautiful season — full of advocacy, connection, and community — but as my daughter grew older, I felt a shift. She deserved more autonomy. More privacy. More room to decide how she shows up in the world. And I realized something else: My own story was expanding too. Motherhood was still here. Disability was still here. But so were grief, healing, womanhood, nervous system care, feminine energy, homemaking, identity, softness… the fuller, deeper pieces of life that were ready to be spoken aloud. Whether you come for the cozy routines, the motherhood reflections, the disability advocacy, or the soft life inspiration — thank you for choosing to share this space with me. Pour a warm drink. Settle in. Let’s grow a life that feels like you again.
